Google Meet is a video chat platform that many companies use to host meetings. Although there are some fun backgrounds and effects that you can use on the platform, it still basically delivers business. But, Google might make Meet more fun by letting you share live apps like YouTube and Kahoot! UNO in the call directly.
Currently, Google is going through a slight transition. It is taking the previous video chat platform Google Duo and is gradually getting rid of it. Google Meet will replace it. Right now, people using the Google Allo app are already seeing it move to Google Meet. The app icon in the Play Store and the name has been changed to reflect the Meet app.
Google Meet can let you share apps directly during the meeting
Now, you'll want to take this with a grain of salt. This was revealed by a deep search of the APK file by 9To5Google. This means that there is no guarantee that this feature will reach the platform. Its icon is in the latest version of the application, but it can be removed at any time.
It looks like Google may allow people to share certain apps directly during a call. This means that when you start this, all chat participants will be taken to the app during the meeting, and they can interact with it.
There is a list of six apps that can participate in this feature if it appears. We have YouTube, Spotify, and Kahoot! and UNO! and GQueues and Heads Up! Kahut! Lets you design tests for other people to answer, alert! is a game of charades, and GQueues is a team task manager. GQueues seems to be the only business-oriented app in the bunch.
The question is: How does this work?
We still don't know exactly how this will work. These apps are not implemented in Google Meet. Instead, Meet will take you to the apps independently while keeping the call together.
Therefore, all users will be in their own applications. We all wonder how Google Meet syncs apps to work together. It seems most likely that YouTube will get some integration because it is owned by Google. However, for other applications, it is a head scratcher. We will have to wait for further developments in this regard to get more answers.
