Moto X40 specs revealed before launch

 


The Moto X40 phone appeared on the Chinese certification platform TENAA, where the site revealed the design and some key specifications. The list has now been updated with more specifications. It will arrive as a successor to the Moto X30 earlier this year.

The phone has been rebranded to Moto Edge 30 Pro in India and is considered a value for money offering.

The successor is expected to bring some notable changes like Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC and 512GB of storage. This may be the first phone to hit the market with a new processor from Qualcomm.

The Moto X40 carries the model number XT2301-5 and should be renamed as the Moto Edge 40 Pro globally, including in India at its launch. However, we don't have an exact timeline for when the phones will debut.

The Moto X40 is said to have three cameras, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto module. The phone is said to be powered by a 5000mAh battery (4950mAh typical) with 68W fast charging support and is expected to run Android 13 operating system out of the box. The Moto X40 is said to measure 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5 mm and weigh 196 grams.

The phone is expected to arrive in three configurations: 8GB/12GB/18GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of storage which may not be expandable further. That's pretty much all that was revealed from the TENAA listing regarding the Moto X40. Previous rumors claimed that the phone will pack a 6.73-inch FHD+ display with a hole punch for selfies. It is said to have a 32MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. The Moto X40 is said to be launched by the end of this year but the exact date is unclear at the moment.
